ClickSend - Send an MMS Action in ActiveCampaign
Introduction
We are excited to introduce a new feature in ActiveCampaign: ClickSend's Send an MMS action is now available in CX Apps! With this feature, you can:
- Send individual MMS by adding a field for an Image URL.
- Automate MMS messages using shared or dedicated Sender IDs.
- Send MMS to supported countries: United States, Canada, Australia and Puerto Rico..
Authorization
Follow these steps to set up ClickSend's MMS action in ActiveCampaign:
- Login to ActiveCampaign
- Go to ActiveCampaign and log into your account.
- Create an Automation
- Navigate to the Automations page.
- Click Create an automation from scratch.
- Select the trigger 'When a tag is added'.
- Use the keyword Join for this tag.
- Under Runs, select Multiple times and click Save.
- Add the ClickSend - Send an MMS Action
- Click the + sign to add an action.
- Search for ClickSend - Send an MMS in the CX Apps list and select it.
- Connect Your ClickSend Account
- Click Add new account.
- Enter your ClickSend Username and API Key.
- Click Next.
Configuring Your MMS Action
- Choose a Sender ID
- Select your Shared or Dedicated number as the sender.
- If you leave the From field blank, the system will automatically use a shared number from your ClickSend account.
Note: Only shared and dedicated numbers are supported for MMS.
- Select an opt-out list
This is optional but recommended.
Choose an opt-out list from the dropdown. Any one who unsubscribes from your messages will be automatically added to this list.
Before you do, make sure you have set up the opt-out rule in your ClickSend Dashboard. Learn how to set up the opt-out rule. - Generate an image URL from the image portal
- Click the link to open the upload portal. You will need to log in to your ClickSend account again to access the portal.
- After logging in, you'll be redirected to the upload page.
- Upload your image file and an MMS Image URL will be generated.
- Copy this URL and paste it into the Image URL field when sending your MMS.

- Compose Your Message
- Add a Subject for your MMS.
- Write your message (Maximum: 1500 characters).

- Complete the Setup
- Click Finish to save your MMS action.
Testing Your Automated MMS
- Go to Contacts
- Select the contact who should receive the automated MMS.
- Add the Trigger Tag
- Scroll down to the Tag field.
- Add the keyword , for example Join (the one used in the trigger setup).
- Verify the Automation
- Once the tag is added, the automated MMS will be triggered.
- Check the Activity section on the right side of the Contact's page to confirm the MMS was sent.
